Since 1982, PSB Media and its predecessor company, QV Publishing, Inc. have been providing in-depth research and analysis about the business of television sports. The company's first report, "Cablesports" (August 1982) later became a newsletter as well (February 1993), with both the report and the newsletter tracking the development of regional sports networks from isolated phenomena like PRISM and SportsChannels New England and New York to the well-financed, richly programmed network of regional sports networks which now operate under the Fox Sports Net banner.

In 1994, PSB Media began distributing information about the business of television sports via e-mail and fax. The publication, "TV SportsFile," was published until July, 2001 when it was changed to a daily e-mail publication entitled, "SportsPipe." In March of 1999, a new product line was launched tracking the development of sports entertainment on the Internet. The weekly newsletter, "netSports" was published until July, 2001 when it was combined into the daily "SportsPipe" e-mail newsletter. The first annual research report "NETSPORTS, 2000" was released in November, 2000.

Over the years, PSB Media has researched and published scores of sports industry reports and directories. the most successful, "Television Sports Rights" is published annually. The 2002 edition is number sixteen. In November, 2002 PSB Media acquired PSB Media.
